In the same week national and international news carried the statements of the former Israeli Mossad intelligence agency chief Tamir Pardo after touring the Occupied West Bank and an almost parallel statement former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman. Both called Israel and US policy in Palestine genocide.  “What I saw today made me feel ashamed to be Jewish,” Pardo lamented.  One commentator noted that “if someone said that in the West, they’d be accused of antisemitism under the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), adopted by the anti-defamation League and many Zionist political forces in the United States.  The state of Israel is sowing the seeds for another October 7, this time in the West Bank, he said.  Israel, said former Secretary of State Sherman, has essentially committed genocide in Gaza, and the United States “helped pave the road that made it possible.”

The genocide has corrupted both Israel and the United States.  The UN and the world must act to end this miasma of the human spirit and our irretrievable loss of sisters and brothers and nature in Palestine.
